Investigative Specialist (I.S.) Faith Roman began her career with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in 2022. Prior to this, she was a missionary in Japan for two and a half years with the Christian organization Youth With a Mission (YWAM) and speaks Japanese. I.S. Roman is assigned to the INTERCEPT (Inter-Agency Child Exploitation and Persons Trafficking) Task Force. The INTERCEPT Task Force is a regional operational task force, created by Operation Light Shine, comprised of Federal, State and local law enforcement. I.S. Roman is responsible for the investigation of child exploitation and human trafficking. She is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Federal Task Force and is a Task Force Personnel (TFP) with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
I.S. Roman also works closely with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). During her short two-year career, she has identified 18 child victims of child sexual abuse material. She was also the driving force behind a 2024 illicit massage parlor operation in Collier County, FL. The operation yielded 11 arrests of the business operators and identified multiple human trafficking victims.
I.S. Roman has received various commendations for her work but none more powerful than a thank you letter from a victim of human trafficking, a constant reminder of the importance of the job we all share.
